Having problems sewing on broadcloth. I do more quilting now than sewing, but I've done it before & don't remember having the huge problems I'm having now. It's puckering like crazy. I've changed the needle to a 10, made sure I have regular sewing thread in it....it still gets a bit ruffly. Looks like of like an ease stitch. I've tried changing the tension...doesn't help.
I'm currently sewing the apron part. Even the straps that are sewn in the direction of the grain are ruffling. Ironing helps....but it still doesn't look flat.
Any ideas?
I've heard tear away stabilizer might help. That would be a pain for all the seams. There's got to be something I'm missing here.
I'm ready to go buy some 100% cotton fabric & be done with my problem.
