Here's some i made last year for myself. The turbans are a free pattern at the Sewing with Nancy site, the others i made from McCalls 4116 pattern.

Hope this helps!! One thing that i found was that when all my hair fell out and i got "shiny" bald, the hats wouldn't stay put,so through experimenting i found if i wore a stocking cap underneath, they stayed in place better.
My hair now is 1/4 to 1/2 " long,so i no longer wear any hats.Nor did i wear any at home.
I'll send up some prayers for your MIL,this isn't an easy trip by any stretch of the imagination, but it is doable. Kathi
Kathi, they are fantastic, you did such a lovely job, sewing and color choices. I made some for my aunt and some of my nephew's patients. We made the cotton knit caps like the stocking caps for under the caps. I checked the McCalls pattern still available. Glad your hair coming back. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Patti
