need help with Morse 60 DeLuxe Precision

I bought this at an estate sale because it looked old and familiar, like what I learned on. Has been cleaned, oiled, new belt/bobbin ring. Runs smooth and quiet - but the needle thread does not pick up the bobbin thread. Also, what setting for the dial for tension? Set stitch length to 12 and ran out of memories!

Be sure you have the needle set correctly. I THINK the flat side of the shank is supposed to face to the right on these. You'll have to figure out the tension setting for yourself. If it's pulling the bobbin thread to the surface, loosen the top tension. I like to tighten down the tension until this happens, then very slowly back it off just until I can't see the bobbin thread any more.
