Side hems of draperies are wavy, not crisp and straight

I have made a few pinch-pleated draperies over the years and they look fine except that the side hems are always wavy rather than straight and crisp, almost like they are stretched, but that is not the case. They are on the straight of grain, and I have tried drapery weights. Nothing seems to help. Please help.

I usually double the side seams and hems if not lined.
After cutting and piecing if necessary, start by putting doubled bottom hems in first(I use 4" or 5" doubled), then do the double side hems (I use 2 inches double when unlined).
I often use blind hemmer on the hems and side seams.
You will notice that the double hems and side seams give a professional look to the drapes making them hang better.
Pressing through out sewing.
Hope this helps a little.
There are several sites if you google "how do I make draperies"

Did you cut off the selvages before sewing? If not this can make them draw up.

Yes I take off the salvage, but I press the width need for the side seams adding the approximate salvabe to measurement. 4" plus the salvage say a 1/2", I do this because it easier for me to remove after, some remove it before but I am usually working alone.
Hope this helps..
