Sewing flimsy fabric

tryingcake

I have been sewing for many years and for the most part have avoided flimsy fabrics. I'm getting brave and telling myself to get over it and just do it. I've bought a ton of Hawaiian shirt fabric. Not super flimsy (silky cotton it's called), but it does move around more than I like. I cut out the fabric perfectly. Removed the pins and everything stretched out. One piece of the collar was a full inch longer than I cut it (and I cut them both at the same time)! The front facing was skewed, not the nice straight line I cut.

Ok- so on the certain pieces I can cheat and use an iron-on stabilizer. But what about the shirt front and back?

Any suggestions? I love this fabric, but am so frustrated.
