Help with my vintage SINGER?

Hi- I'm not a great seamstress. Basically I use my machine to create simple costumes for my drama business.

All of a sudden my Singer stopped picking up the bobbin thread when sewing. I've given it a good look see and cannot see why it all of a sudden started doing this. I am mid production right now and cannot take it to the shop for a repair as I desperately need it asap.

Any ideas to fix? Google troubleshooting on this didn't help.

I'm certainly no expert, but I always start with a complete rethreading, then try changing the needle. Sometimes it's just that simple. Good luck!

Have you tried cleaning the machine's bobbin area? If you cannot find the machine's brush use an old paint brush. Clean the bobbin holder also. Be careful not to loosen the little screw. Hope this helps, if not let me know and I will check the repair manuals I have. Good luck.

Sometimes that happens when a machine jumps time. Have you done anything where the machine was under stress? Once I was doing something using a hoop & the hoop touched the wall & it jumped time.
