| I am making a doctoral gown and I plan to highlight the velvet using piping (cordedge). No problem for the front velvet panels, I can do that in one continuous piece. The chevrons on the the sleeves are the issue. I don't know how to join the ends of the trim! Turning it under or overlapping would make it too bulky. To make matters worse, the cord is a twisted cord which would tend to unravel.
I would love to hear any ideas. . . I came up with a possibility just now while thinking about it. Will have to experiment a bit and see if it will work! In the meantime, I would be delighted to hear about tried-and-true methods. TIA,

| Julie, You can untwist the individual cords, tape the ends if they are unraveling and then overlap the individual cords where they meet to get the twist cord look. It take practice but looks great when finished. Good Luck, |
