Years ago, on an antique doll forum, it was recommended that one could use a product called ORVUS W A Paste, and I can't remember for sure where I purchased it. (Feed store perhaps...like for whitening horses feet???) Anyway, it is also called 'sodium lauryl sulfate'. If I remember correctly, one soaked item in it and rinsed and rinsed and rinsed and it did whiten 'old' fabrics. BTW Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is found in EVERYTHING that lathers...including Angel Food Cake Mix, if you can believe it.

If the veil is nylon, nothing will whiten it, although it may become cleaner. Yellowed nylon is permanently yellowed.

If it's silk or something else, Oxyclean is a good bet, as is Biz. Long soaking and thorough rinsing are called for.
