Chevron trouble

Hello,
I am making curtains for the new granddaughter's nursery from some lovely yellow chevron material the daughter bought.
I pulled a thread to determine the grain, and found that the chevrons are not printed correctly on the material (surprise surprise, right?!). The variance runs as much as 2."
Should I ignore the grain and cut according to the chevrons?

i might baste it together based on the chevrons and see if it hangs properly. If it doesn't, then you may want to add a solid strip in between the seams so that it's less apparent that the chevrons don't line up correctly, but at least the curtains will hang straight.
