Seersucker!

I agree with clergychick. Searsucker is a great choice. It is one of my favorites for summer wear. Another choice would be cotton. Polycotton for non iron or 100% cotton if she doesn't mind wrinkles which many don't these days because it is cool

As I wrote in another post, 100% cotton. Period. For me, polyester is miserable to wear. Some cottons are much better than others about wrinkling, so you can have the best of both worlds if you look hard.

Seersucker is great for some things....if it's all cotton. But the very nature of the fabric adds a little bulk, something a pregnant woman might be trying to avoid. Also, seersucker will not drape nicely over her belly in a sundress.

Cotton gauze, laundered/washed cotton, handkerchief linen, eyelet. Can you tell it's summer here already? Arrrrggghhh!

Plisse is a nice alternative to seersucker - usually thinner, & the 100% cotton kind doesn't seem to wrinkle very easily. Polyester is nice for the no-ironing aspect, but boy! when I perspire, it seems to magnify the odor immediately = (

I love plisse nightgowns and pjs! It is hard to find though. The only place I have found it is in the Amish country fabric shops around Lancaster PA, but at least I now have two plisse nightgowns. One is so worn it is really, really worn thin - which is great for summer sleeping.
