When I was deciding on a new iron, I looked into gravity feed irons. I stopped in at a local dry cleaner and asked about theirs. The lady I spoke with mentioned how heavy the iron is and recommended against it for that reason. She was a senior citizen and it bothered her. Me, I was having problems with my neck and shoulders (and still do), so it wasn't going to work for me either.

Maybe one of your dry cleaners would let you try theirs.

Also, you said you want to hang the water tank on a door. Will your door be strong enough to support the water tank?

I have had my Rowenta Model DG 050 steam generator for almost 9 years and it is still going strong. I probably use it 2 to 3 hours per week. I am very happy with it. I must say that I don't know if I would buy Rowenta's current steam generator, I would have to do some research on it first. The model I have was made in France and I believe the new ones are made in China. That doesn't mean they are bad, but it does cause me to question.
