How do I make Inverted Pleated Drapes?

Posted by beautycake (My Page) on

Hello everyone, I would like to make inverted pleated drapes and have yet to find anything online on how to do so. I have mocked up some ideas, but so far they just seem a little complicated. Has anyone had experience making these before? Any recommendations on books or websites to get information on how to do so? Thanks so much!

I have a book put out by Simplicity called "Simply the Best Home Decorating Book" that has very clear instructions on all kinds of home dec stuff. It has lots of drapes - I'm pretty sure they have inverted pleats. Maybe you can get it from your local library. I think I bought mine at JoAnn's.

I'm not sure what you are calling inverted pleated Drapes
but check out pleaters tape, it makes pleating very easy,
no sewing for the pleats.

Rufflette makes a great inverted pleat tape. you can gt it at www.draperysupply.com. If you prefer to not use a pleater tape,it can be done, and well. Several people have posted pics of theirs on the Custom Home Furnishings web site.
