Interfacing for Placemats

Posted by artldy2 (My Page) on

Hi, I want to make placemats with a pocket on them for the silverware. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what kind of interfacing to use? I bought cotton for each side and don't know if I should use fusible or sew in. How thick should it be. Has anyone out there made placemats and have some advice??

I like to use a layer of muslin or other 100% cotton for interfacing placemats. It gives you a little more thickness, but washes well and lays nice and flat.

I use thin fleece in mine.Gives them good body, holds up well, and glasses don't tip over.
