Attaching lace to sheers

beebooks

I received from my mother a large box of old lace, tatting, and crochet remnants. I would like to use some of it to attach to sheers and hang in my bedroom. Much of the lace I will use for this project is in long strips which vary from a half inch to about 2 inches wide. I've been giving a lot of thought as to the best way to attach this, but haven't come up with a definite plan. I could use some advice. Could I use a product like Stitch Witchery or Steam A Seam? Or should I use a water soluble stabilizer and then stitch the lace on? The sheers are washable and I will hand-wash them occasionally.

Thanks in advance!
