well it's time I told the truth about my own very ugly drapes. They weren't ugly when I first hung them about 5-7 yrs ago. But a couple months ago the fabric started to fray, and it got worse quickly due to our 2 dogs constantly nosing them to look out the window.

well this is better now. Need to adjust the top a little. I added the contrast fabric to offset the wet little noses always touching them, and plan to gently wash these twice a year, then if they start to show wear, I left them long so I can easily shorten and get another year or two of use.

I can't believe I had such shabby drapes when I know how to make them! It was only for about a month that I was working on them, once they started to unravel they really went bad. And the rod has had it, it's all wonky, again, from the dogs tugging on them every day.

Now I need to make some for the extra bedroom, luckily those aren't in bad shape, just getting old looking.
