Simplicity 4636 has what you need.If i were you though,i'd wait for Joanne's to have the .99 cent sale on patterns,as the regular price for the pattern is 15.95.Most places have them 1/2 price quite often,but our joanns's and hancocks both run good sales on them The pattern also has a car seat cover,cover for a glider,(rocking chair),moses basket.

Go to the simplicity site and put in the # and you can see if that's what you want.

You might be intersted to know that Walmart sells a ready made one for about 20.00.HTH

I'd never heard of such a thing, so went looking and found that McCall's has a pattern too. I think the Simplicity one is rather ghastly looking with all the frills - but then I'm not a frilly sort of a person!!

This one has toys attached - seems like a good idea, keep 'em occupied.

My 2 cents. DD said that the seat cover is great, but trying to hang onto the baby and put the cover on the cart is not easy. She ditched the cart cover and got one that just covers (wraps around) the cart handle so baby doesn't chew on the handle. It has velcro pieces so you can attach toys to it also.
DD is a pediatrician and decided that his butt could get cold, but he was NOT going to chew on the cart handle. LOL

I wanted to make a cover, too, several years ago. At that time I couldn't find a pattern I really liked, so I ended up buying the cover from BabyEmporio. This link shows the various types of covers.

Here is a link to a Comparison Chart of features of various styles of shopping cart covers. It might help you decide which pattern to use. You'll note that some use the grocery cart's strap to hold the child (likely to be very dirty) and others have built in straps. Some cover all the cart's parts within reach of the child, others don't. Some covers are very easy to put on (essentially you just hold child with one arm and fling the cover on) and other's require a good bit of manipulation to get them in place. Ditto removing when you are ready to leave.

If you decide you make your own cover, you could always add features you want that aren't part of the pattern.

(I ended up getting the "Baby A La Cart" for my daughter. She loves it!)
