Why the extra top fabric at the end of a long seam?

Greetings,

I am sewing drapes for the first time. I cut my panels to the same size, and when I pinned them they lined up. But as I was sewing, a 'wave' of top fabric was created, that got larger and larger. By the end of the 100" seam, I had an extra 1" of top fabric. I did three seams, and it happened the same each time.

What could I have done differently? Any advice appreciated.

Thanks,

Mary
