need advice on purchasing sewing machine

Hi all, I haven't sewn in a long time. But, I'm thinking about starting up again, and have been searching Craigs List to possibly purchase a machine. I just found one - it's a Brother LS2020. Supposedly never used, in the box. $50. Would this be a good machine for a newbie? Is it a good price? Any advice would be appreciated!

I'd kick in some extra money and see what your local sewing machine store has to offer. They are going to stand behind it, offer some instruction and be available for repairs.

Seconding the "shop the local sewing machine stores", I'd add - buy the best you can afford. Don't go overboard, but a good sewing machine is a serious tool and will give you many years of service. I'd definitely buy a better used machine than a cheap new one.
