What is your sewing experience? What are you interested in? A lot of women enjoy quilting and there are many simple quilting projects that are perfect for a newbie (placemats, wall hangings come to mind).

Or are you like me, interested in sewing garments? If so, a simple top or pull on pants or shorts make a good project. I'd avoid anything that required zippers for a starter project.

Your local sewing center likely has classes with good projects for beginners as well.

Most of all, get to know your machine, keep the manual handy and refer to it often, and most of all have fun with it.

Make yourself a pair of those popular pajamas bottoms that everyone wears.Very simple,no zippers,no buttonholes etc.

You can also make yourself a sampler pack:Get a piece of fabric a zipper and practice putting a zipper in,also do some buttonholes,add some piping to a piece of fabric and things like that.

One thing i do everytime i get a new machine,i get a piece of white muslin or some scrap fabric and i do a test of all the stitches the machine will do,If any of the stitches look off i then will put one color of thread in the bobbin and another color on top,so you can see easier where the problem is.I save this sampler,so i can refer to it later.

we have a Tajima single head and cant get it to switch from cap frame to tubular please if anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated
