Fabric 2nds stores in NY

Hi all! I was so excited to find this forum. Is there anyone out there from Long Island that has found any good fabric stores? Has anyone been to Silk Surplus in Westbury? If so, what is the selection like? Its about an hour drive for me and I wanted to know if it was worth visiting. I am looking for fabric for my dining room (I am making pinch pleat drapes). Thanks for your input : )

The only store I can think of is in Orange County, NY. Quite a distance from Long Island. Good luck with your search.

Walmart has a big sale going on home furnishing fabrics. Nice selection too. Also, Joannes and Ben Franklins have home furnishing fabrics though a little more pricy. Call the Walmart store nearest you as not all their stores carry fabric. Good luck!

I am from Long Island, NY..A great source for good fabric is Duralee in Bay Shore....in the back...designers go to the store up fron, but go to the driveway in the back,,,

The Fabric Mill in Plainview off the service road of the LIE is another good fabric store.
