How To Sew This Type of Side Seams?

I do not know the name of these seams to look up serger directions. I am taking in shirts 2 inches and need to have this split opening. Thanks!

Look up how to make a shirt placket. I think that's what you are talking about. It is a seam with an opening at the bottom which is finished off so no raw edges show

That's just an open bottom seam ... I don't know what the name is.

1 - stitch down to where the seam ends
2 - press the seam open
3 - stitch across the top of the opening
4 - Measure for the hem and hem the shirt

5 - Fold the remaining seam under (as if you were making a narrow hem) and stitch up both sides.

Oh I call it a slit.

Yes, what lazygardens said....just be sure that where you stop sewing the side seam to leave the opening for the slit, you back stitch to help reinforce it...
