Hi Diane, OH that is a very cute coat! How about a brocade, or soft tapestry? I think microsuede would be way too stiff......You could use a lot of fabrics, really, especially if you interline it to stabilize the fabric and add warmth. I am big on using flannel to interline most of my fashion designs. I always preshrink/dry it first. It has a lot of " stretch" until it is washed/shrunk.

Brocade/tapestry sounds interesting. I will have to look to see what is available. I want to be able to wear it with (nice) jeans as well as dresser options. I like your idea about interlining it with flannel.
