 o
best underlining for satin gown

I have read that drapery lining is best for underling, which is great for me as I have a surplus of several weights and finishes. including a medium weight with a satiny finish as well as light, med and heavy weight cotton base. My question is which of the above materials is best to use for the underlining. I am using the same satin for the lining. The underlining is only called for in the top. This is a 2 piece design with a skirt, which does not call for an underlying. Also I will happily take any other tips as I have never used underling before. Thank you

Personally have not used drapery lining.
Not sure it would be soft enough for Bridal Satin.
I have used batiste, organdy.
Read the site posted below has several tips.
Please note the area about using the right color for underlining.

Here is a link that might be useful: Satin, Underlining.

Ditto, to the above, batiste and organdy are the only two that I have used.
