Do Your Children Like To Sew?

| I have 3 daughters and a son. The son does not sew and one daughter has no interest in sewing. However the other two girls like to sew, even though they do not sew often. One daughter has her sewing machine here and there are times we sew together. The other daughter used to sew hand made bears and sold them on eBay. She did very well back then with them. My Granddaughter does not sew either. Do you have children or Grandchildren that like to sew? I think it is wonderful if they do.

| Yes, my oldest daughter sews like her momma. The youngest one and daughter-in-law don't. My grandaughter, 8, loves it, too. My daughter is sitting up a wonderful sewing room. They have a huge basement and they are finally getting it finished. Her hubby used to work for a big builder and always got extra cabinets. I would love to have one like it.. One home our son was working on had the wrong cabinets put in and they had to take them down. We got them for our kitchen. We had to buy 3 to get the fit right. Less then $600.00 for our whole kitchen. Susie |

No kids here and my dog doesn't have thumbs! Fifteen years ago I took a break from the car business and decided to work in a fabric store. The store manager didn't sew and talked me into running beginner classes. It was alot of fun and alot of work. I personally think it's a shame that they don't teach sewing in school any longer. I had the best Home Ec teacher for three years in Jr High, Sandy Henderson. She taught me so much about sewing, cooking and life in general. My high school teacher was a former home econimist for Swift Meat Packers. She wasn't the greatest at cooking or sewing. |

| They still teach sewing, msmarion. In the schools my six kids went to in two different states, they all took FACE in jr high, and could take it in HS, too, if they wanted to. FACE stands for Family And Consumer Economics, and teaches sewing, cooking, budgeting, nutrition, just like our old Home Ec classes did, except it includes boys now, too. |

| I forgot to mention that two of my dtrs sew once in a while, none of my sons does. My 25 yo dtr is making a dress for herself in my sewing room at this very moment. She'll be calling for help in a minute or two, I expect! Sherry |
