What type of thread do I need to sew cushions with outdoor fabric? TIA

RE: Outdoor cushions -- thread

The type thread is called "Outdoor Living" and is made my more than one company. Probably Coats and Clark is the most familiar and you should even be able to buy it at Wal-Mart or for sure order if from Amazon...It comes in many colors and is nice and strong and UV resistant.

RE: Outdoor cushions -- thread

I buy mine from SailRite, the UV thread. I repair sails and sail covers and outdoor cushions. Regular thread rots in the sun and what's made with it literally falls apart at the seams.

Here is a link that might be useful: SailRite_outdoor_threads

RE: Outdoor cushions -- thread

Thanks, I'll check them both.

Does this type thread require a commercial sewing machine or will a home machine, like a Brother be able to sew with it?
