Chevron problems

Hello,
I'm sewing curtains for the new granddaughter's room. Daughter purchased lovely yellow chevron material, just the right weight for draperies. I determined the grain by pulling a thread. The chevron is not printed on the grain (surprise surprise, right?).
SO...do I sew these draperies going by the grain, or by the stripes?
