Betty, I LOVE the pink tablecloth in your tea setting. If you hadn't told us, I wouldn't have known it was plastic. It is such a pretty colour and goes so well with your beautiful dishes. What I find particularly appealing (besides sweet Hanna and the yummy food!) are the candlestick holders you used...I love candles of all sorts and those are great. Are they crystal? YIKES!! (LOL) Where to start! :) I love the old fashioned scrapbooks where things are glued in etc. But, with all the talk of acid in the papers and glues destroying the photos over time, I have opted for the Creative Memories albums and supplies. I think it would be wonderful to share ideas, pictures etc with everyone who is working on the same theme. It would also be great for everyone to post their favourite scrapbooking sites here. There are soooo many of them, that it would be nice to know which ones people have found useful. Creative Memories is an American company that sells (through home parties)Scrapbooking supplies. They are expensive but from my point of view, well worth the money. They sell different sizes of albums all with acid free, buffered pages, acid free photo mounting papers, adhesives, acid free stickers and die cuts for decorating your pages, and all the tools you could imagine...scissors, rulers, templates etc...does that help? Just thought, maybe I should introduce myself..I am in Ontario, Canada, have been scrapbooking for about 6 years, am a "retired" (ha ha) Creative Memories consultant, and am working on my 7th album. (Have two sons, 9 and 5) When I first started to scrapbook, I only used Creative Memories products and was careful what I put in my albums, making sure they were acid free etc. However, in the last little while, I have found that that really isn't my "style" I have started to add all kinds of things..pressed flowers, memorabilia, lots of things, that really remind me of the old fashioned type of scrapbooks. I made snowman ornaments, I cut out a simple snowman shape, used my markers and gel pens to make faces, vests and stitches around the edges. I laid them right sides together, placed a small piece of batting on the outside, stitched, turned and stuck small twigs for arms through the side seams and glued and added a cord hanger. One of the stamping sites stamped on the back side of pop cans, cut them out and slightly curled the edges and made cool butterflies, you could just draw with your markers or stencil them. A friend spray painted vegetable cans, then stenciled on them for small planters, she added a wire handle. I have one with pansies that is really cute. I sometimes use my papers as stationery, I print out letters on them, brightens shutins day or I place a sticker on a plain letter to add a holiday or special event theme. I also use my decorative scissors to trim envelope flaps to add interest. Light switch covers with a few decorative stickers or stenciling can hide the cover and carry out a theme. Also plan to make seed packets with stickers and markers/gel pens and put small curled wire hangers on them then add my own saved seed for stocking stuffers and secret gifts. Gracefulbee.com was starting a new section with ideas for using scrapping tools, etc., too.

Hello, My name is Jenny, I am a junior at the University of Iowa and i have been scrapping for about 6 months. I started because i wanted to do an album for my brother as his gift from me for his high school graduation. That is my current project, but i plan to do many more when this one is finished. I had no idea it would become this addictive (instead of clothes, i spend my mall gift certificates on stickers and scrapping supplies). Don't worry though, i still buy my fair share of new clothes too. =) I love this message board and try to visit atleast once a day, everyone seems so helpful and encouraging.
