Scanning photos

I am thinking about purchasing a scanner so I can make duplicates/enlarge/crop of my photos without having to get reprints, etc. Is the quality of a scanned photo as good and is that dependent on the quality of the scanner or that of the printer? Ijust think it would be helpful for when I want a larger one than a 4x6.

RE: Scanning photos

I love my scanned pictures...but...I am told that they don't last as long as the other kind...especially if you have an ink jet printer..I use them anyway. Your scanner is only as good as your printer...I figure they'll last as long as I do...ha

But..even better than that is to get a computer CD of your pictures when you have your film developed and work on them from it...I've been having great fun doing that
