I have a 10 year old, very mature great niece who has started scrapbooking. Can you suggest some good gifts, something all scrapbookers need or wish they had. thank you

How about a paper cutter, scissors, embellishments, scrapbook, stickers, etc. Just go to any craft store and the ideas will come to you, BELIEVE ME!

I think the paper cutter is a great idea. Just make sure you get one that you can measure, not just a "cropper. I just stopped at a Dollar Tree (the dollar store where everything is $1) and they had a big variety of stuff. Also check out Hobby Lobby when they have 1/2 price sales on stickers or paper. The paper packs they have with a variety of colors would be great. If she already has the basics of cutter, paper, scissors, etc., then get her some punches; decorative corner punches would be good if she is actually scapbooking pictures. Maybe she has a pet she would like to make a scrapbook of--there are lots of stickers for that. You will have fun shopping for her and might just get hooked yourself if you haven't been doing it.

I have three of these brothers. Christmas is always a fun time. (Not.) Does he have Netflix or Hulu Plus? You can give him several months of streaming video, if he likes to watch TV. A "luxury" brand of something he uses often? Like gourmet coffee or chocolate or nachos? If he has a favorite movie or TV show, something related to that? I knitted one brother a Doctor Who scarf last year and he loved it. Even though he's not into gadgets, what about one of those emergency radios? The ones with a flashlight and charging port, that run on batteries but can also be hand-cranked. Nearly everyone has power outages at some point, and needs some emergency gear. Two places I've found good gifts for my brothers: Restoration Hardware and ThinkGeek. Check out RH's gift section--look at the stocking stuffers. There are a lot of ideas there. ThinkGeek does have a lot of techy stuff, but there's some useful home gadgets there as well. In addition to a cat hammock that my cats just love. (Would he like a gift for the cats?) It's a good place for outside-the-box gifts. Granted, he is probably not going to want the Zombie Apocalypse Garden Gnomes, but they have a lot of iPhone and iPad accessories, desk/office stuff, and a lot of things related to coffee and bacon, which a lot of guys seem to like.

This is the Travelon purse my sister and I both have. It is called a mini, but by my standards it is a normal size purse. But I think there is sufficient info on the phtoto for you to find it, if you are interested. I keep my cash and extra credit cards in it under my clothes. I have altered the strap to make it longer (remove the slides so that it isn’t adjustable). I wear it attached to the side of my bra hanging under my arm or attach it to a belt loop and then flip it inside my pants. It is NOT big enough for a passport.

What a cute idea, Mtn... grandparents always love pics and the kids change so much in a year! I was in Barnes & Noble over the weekend to pick up some books and saw this candle and thought it was adorable. They have some other hand gestures also. Those are cute-- and I love bamboo socks! I especially love that they are hand dyed. Thanks for the link.. I'll share a suggestion in return: I am pretty picky about socks-- but my mother is even more so plus at her age and with her health issues, she needs them to be pretty stretchy to put on herself. I got these for her for Christmas as a longshot (but mostly because the thistle fit the theme of a specific activity in her Year of Experiences gift). I can't share a link but you can search for Modsocks on the big A. There are many designs, many of which are botanicals.

If you have a "Michaels" Craft store in your area, watch when they have their paper packs 1/2 off. They are cheaper there than at Hobby Lobby, other wise Hobby Lobby is the place to get 95% of scrapbooking products. Once she has a good straight edge cutter, embellishments are the best.

How about a gift certificate to Michael's or Hobby Lobby and then take her to those stores to shop with her? Fun!

Don't know if you sew, but how about a really neat tote bag to cart it all along in? One made out of an old pair of jeans would probably be a big hit. It's cool that she's into scrapbooking at a young age. Let us know what all you decided to get her. Keep up the inspirations!
