Hi, and nice to see your trees! I like the first one in the third row down, nice random sort of 'reaching', but I'd cut all those branches back to 1-2 sets of leaves so you start getting ramification and some shape (though not til spring I guess if it's outdoors). Something else I'll warn you about - the majority of bonsai-ists on most of the forums will likely turn their noses up at S bends - the problem I think is that a LOT of 'mall'-sai are sold like that, conforming to each other by the 1,000s (grown in China usually) and are considered both unnatural and cookie cutter-ish. Now if doing S-bends is a trait of a particular school of pen-jing, and you're consciously trying to do it, that's a choice and as valid as any other, but I thought I'd just give you a 'heads-up' on current thinking about them in case you run into the crowd :-)!

He must have been so young...his face still looks unlined and vibrant. Do you have a picture of that young flyboy? I'm always in awe when looking at WWII pictures...mostly youngsters. My Dad was in the Pacific but he was Regular Army and age early thirties. He's gone now so cherish this time with your Dad...and a big salute to him from me too. josh

Taoseeker- I am thinking about trying a Yolande d'Aragon hybrid perpetual. Other people in the area have had good success with this rose, even with the cold winters. I'd love to try a Jacques Cartier, but I want to check at Northland Rosarium to see if it's recommended for our zone. Mariannese- Wow! You have 36 Gallicas? Do you have any pics of your garden? I'd love to see them. I would like to try a Charles de Mills, which is supposed to be pretty cold hardy and maybe a Tuscany and Apothecary rose. Isabelle- I showed my husband the picture of your grape arbor and table and chairs. I have wanted to do something similar in our back yard, maybe with my antique bricks underneath. He likes the bricks, but didn't really know what I wanted. After seeing your picture, he thinks it would be a great idea! Yea! and thanks :)

Many old record albums are purchased for the cover artwork. There are also collectors of the records themselves. There are companies like the one linked below that you might check with...they have to purchase what they sell somewhere...might as well be you.
