Michael's won't put their ad in my zip code. Granted I am about 10 miles from their store - BUT if I'm willing to drive why aren't they willing to see that I get an ad. I have gone to the store and explained that I don't get the ad but all they say is "too bad, we can't give you one".

Also - was shopping there for a pair of locking tweezers. They didn't have any. Ended up finding a 2 pairs on eBay and they are coming from England - $5.00 total (including s&h). Guess I should be glad Michael's didn't have any - surely would have cost me more.

Can you tell, I DON'T like Michael's.

I asked about getting an ad mailed to me, and was told that I just have to buy the paper. Fortunately, I get a nice check out lady who scans a coupon she keeps at her register, so I get the 40% off.
I agree that it's sometime better to get stuff off ebay, but then again sometimes people go bid happy and bid way too high for what the item is.

I live just a few miles from Michael's and have the same problem- They don't pay to have their ad put into my zip code. It is SO frustrating.

It isn't even the 40% off coupon- it's just the ergular sale stuff. Whenever I am near the store, I stop by, and IF paper happens to be one sale, I stock up... but they lose a LOT of my business because I never know what's on sale!

Luckily we have an AC Moore nearby also.. and they are MUCH cheaper, although they don't have as good a selection of papers.

My sympathies to you with the unplanned flood damage. You have a huge project on your hands there, and my word of advice would be not to rush into changes this big. We had a water leak-induced remodel that started over a year ago, and it's taken a long time to plan a new kitchen, but we're glad we took this year to research before diving into the upgrades. If you literally cannot wait that long to re-do, then perhaps consider hiring a kitchen designer in your area to do a lot of the difficult design and recommendation aspects for you. Under a normal timeline, there is so much you can learn by researching on your own, but in a time crunch, you'll be glad you paid for professional help to speed things up and avoid some pitfalls of cabinetry layout. One of the first things you might hear recommended for your space is to make the bar one-level, but if you want a total re-configuration, then the possibilities are limitless as to re-locating and adding features. Most new cabinetry designs are avoiding the multi-level wall cabinet heights and going with cabinets all the way to the ceiling for ceilings that are of average height.

Did you make your choice yet? Used Swimex pools do become available from time to time and would be within your budget if you waited long enough. As you know, the Swimex paddlewheel current is considered the most superior of any on the market right now. It almost sounds like with your landscaping that a Containur Pool made of a repurposed shipping container and fiberglass with fitting for an Endless Pool swim current would be ideal since you could set it without any retaining wall, just piers on your slope. Those are also within your budget. The Michael Phelps swim spas are excellent, and I'm sure you would enjoy one if you went that direction. However, buying a used one and expecting another 15 years out of it is risky. Those shells are acrylic and not as durable as fiberglass, especially if this will be outdoors. The parent company, Masterspas, has also been known to deal with some quality failures on occasion, though no more it would seem than most other spa companies. Those stand-alone spas do tend to start having problems that require repair starting around the 5-year mark and beyond. A gunite pool can last a lifetime and is often competitively priced against a swim spa, but your landscape would add a lot of cost since you have that slope. I am interested to hear what you decided.

When I first blew past this thread, I thought the picture was a painting or a print, thought, "oh that's pretty...nice colors..." and moved on. Then I realized what it was. Wow, that is one beautiful x-stitch! I am a long-time x-stitcher.... I made samplers for each of my kids when they were born and for my wedding, and have done a few others since but not nearly as much as I did when I was younger. I recently started up again but kind of tossed my new project aside as I got distracted with other things (I took a class in "visible mending" and now I'm running around embroidering all my clothes LOL). This has motivated me to get back to work on that project! Thanks for sharing.

I was wondering if the two planes (one carrying the two Michaels from China and the other carrying Meng Wanzhou from Vancouver) waved wings at one another as they crossed over the Pacific. Although tonight the news said that Meng's plane completed avoided American airspace on the way from Vancouver back to China. I'm thrilled that they're finally home. This should have been settled long ago.

I never get anything in the mail from Michael's I buy the Dallas Sunday paper and sometimes there is an ad in there I also buy our local Sunday paper and there is usually a flyer in there. We get a free newspaper thrown on the lawn on Wednesdays with some local ads in it and there is usually a flyer from Michaels in it too. Some times I get 3 coupons a week tht way.

Someone on another board posted this link to an online Michael's coupon. Other posters there say they used the coupon. It's worth a try!

gosh i cant believe that im only about 3 miles from my neartest micheals and i get the coupons almost every sunday in our paper. I love Micheals but only because we dont have hobby lobby which is way better. I have 7 scrapping stores within 30 miles of me but now that Micheals sell Jolee boutique stickers i can get em there for 40%off and that is alot better than the lss.
