How many times did you fold the snowflakes paper? I made couple last year for 1st time in years & just too xerox paper & made a square & then folded it in half total of 4 folds then I rounded off the wide edge & started cutting. Yours are more delicate looking & much nicer!! I finished making my seashell ornaments. They are beautiful, Wish I could put my pics on computer. They just glisten. I told how to do it over on Holidays forum under Beach Tree by a lady that asked how i did them. Hers are made of glass. I thought why not try real fan shaped shells. Prettiest ornaments on the tree!! Light really makes them look like they are covered with tiny lights. The Beach Tree is way down the page so might have to go back to last page of posts before this 1. So simple, so beautiful. Even kids can do this. I can just see them on your tree with the grapevine, Cherry, would be so elegant. WalMarts sells shells in craft, glass area if you don't have any. Could use other types of shells but the most beautiful are the fan shaped. The light actually is showing through the 1 from the mini-light behind it. I did not paint the backs.Secret is the DecoArt"Twinkles" glitter as it is so fine, like grains of sand sparkling!! Do you get the idea I liked the results??? LOL Twinkles would look great lightly brushed on the snowflakes too!!!It's 2 oz bottle over in with the paints. Get it when you get champagne or pearl white metallic paint & supplies would be maybe $5 & make lots of shells & snowflakes look great. Jan

Which is, btw, part of my point -- these decisions get made, ultimately, in the deep context of background and experiences. In part because the surface-situation of strict cost:benefit analyses are so complex and subject to error. The decision is +/- binary in the end, but the inputs are so complicated.... in the end most of us are moved, consciously or otherwise, with what "feels" right -- we go with how we've been moved by or own stories, the more objective route being blocked. So, for example, my own experiences leave me ultimately feeling that washing, i.e., scrubbing, is cleaner than wiping, which is what happens with towels. It's pretty much a direct result of that eye-opening conversation with an Indian about personal hygiene. As well as seeing those tests that showed sponge and towel cleaning were completely insignificant in terms of resulting sterility; it mattered *how* you used those tools, not which one you used. Christine - you must know I pretty well hang on your every word. Maybe we should start a side-discussion (that pink forum) about our kitchen-cooking motivators. (I too got sick recently from a mayonnaise-based dressing that had been sitting on a table top in Polynesia: honestly, what was I thinking? If you are using raised beds you don't need a tiller. It would be impossible to use it in raised beds. I use a garden claw and it works great in good soil but wouldn't work in clay. I suggest you make your beds and fill them with good soil because clay takes a lot of amending to make a good growing medium but is fine and holds moisture under a layer of good loam. If you need a tiller occasionally you can rent them by the day. When we first moved to our house the soil was all clay. We did buy a tiller because we wanted a garden(not raised beds). We moved in late summer and that fall and let it be known that we would rake leaves if we could keep them. We spread them on the ground and tilled them in. The next summer we planted our garden and what a dismal failure it was. Plant roots have a hard time growing in clay. It took 3 years of raking and tilling and amending the garden with what compost we made and old manure(fresh manure has lots of weed seeds)before we got a decent garden
