I use daisies most of the time... My favorite presentation is a daisy or two in individual small glass bottles that I have saved up. Some are antiques, some are new, all are odd shapes and sizes. My idea for you is to drill a hole in your silver block that will hold a florists water pick(1/2" or a bit bigger) and insert a daisy stem or two in the water pick. You could use a curly ribbon bow/pom-pom to disguise the top of the pick. HTH Here is a link that might be useful: water picks

I got a belated e-card from a friend wishing me Happy Birthday. I wish I hadn't. I would have preferred she skip the whole thing. Christmas cards seem the last vestige of a lovely tradition of keeping in touch. I always consider them part of the gifts of the holiday season, that someone would take a little time to write a note and send a card. Of course there are those who don't write the notes, but send the card. Either way, with text messaging and digital everything, I like the now ''old fashioned'' tradition. I also cut way back on my card list after realizing there were those who don't really care about them. I still do though, and it's the one time of year I enjoy going to the mailbox.

they're not always exactly 12 x 12...and there is a top and bottom...make sure you aren't getting them in sideways. If you do, they are a little too short and you have to trim a little off the sides in order for them to fit. I usually keep one sheet for a pattern and have the top marked...then I hold the sheet up to it to make sure I'm not getting it sideways...it's very frustrating to get the pictures all on a page and everything fastened down just to find out that it is all done sideways...been there, done that
