Yeah Heidi ~~~ Thanks for hosting this fun swap this month. You got us all started on a creative roll & the packages were awesome. Thanks again, Heidi! Spring is ramping up quickly here in WA, so I am going to be a lurker and probably not play for awhile. Any day it is milder & not too rainy I'm outside if at all possible before I work in the late afternoon. If I get ahead now it pays off all summer long not only in our gardens, but especially in the high visibility camp gardens that have a huge weed bank. Our mulching works as long as no one else digs in there. A water leak last month led to a backhoe digging & you can imagine that mess with our rocky soil. The mostly fist or bigger sized rocks are now back on top. I'm thinking I'm going to just let a groundcover spread over them after I meander them a bit. I had made a nice stack & edging for the bike parking... At home hubby mowed the lawn Sunday afternoon, so now it's an even bright green. Our son has taken advantage of the dry afternoons working on blowing the driveway of fir needles & cedar debris. That reduces the muddy gravel a lot if we can keep up. I went to a plant swap on Saturday & stuffed the Suburban with lots of plants for camp. Most exciting was the hen & chicks for my hubby's topiary project he saw in a library book I checked out for him. See, gardening is c-a-t-c-h-i-n-g. We have lots of moss for stuffing the wire frame! The native Indian plum is about to bloom. Once I smell that fragrance it's officially spring for me here & the race is on! Happy almost Spring, Corrine

But especially to Dan! i know that i did quit MNF a little befor anything, but i know things have been alot tough for you lately! and i just want to give you a big hug for hanging in there. you are an amazingly rich in warmth hearted person!! i know what i want to say, (you know how i am, always screwing words up!! **big grinn**) but i just love ya!! (((hugz))) i just know that God will do a real blessing in your life!! :') Fran i was wondering if you had enough of them beans mix so i could have some too?? Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes!! it went pretty great!! we spent all day together and snuggled and watched movies and well it was just great to spend time with all 4 of us!! :') Happy birthday zinaray and ilovefarce!! i know yours is tomarow but just in case i don't get back to here till after then!! i can't wait to hear about how you spent some of it!! ohhh and i can't wait to hear how some of you did some of your valentines!!!! WOO HOOO!!! like roses?? or chocolates or something like that. or snuggling. that's always my favorite. because my hubs is not a snuggler. he say's my bodyheat is to hot for him and i smother him out. OOPS!!! LOL **big grinn** what would be nice is a fireplace and watching a fire and a nice blanket and cuddle time, just watching the fire. WOW that would be so cool!! Thanks also for the sweet card - I really love that scripture and plant on memorizing it:) Playintheyard (Annette) sent: Kniofia, Gloriosa Daisy, petunia wave seeds, love the pretty card, too! These will be my first petunia from seed. They've been on my wishlist for some time. Aphroditelaughs (Ellie) sent Zucchini Ronde de Nice, Baptisia wild blue indigo, poppy black cloud, tall red salvia and petunia prism sunshine hybrid (been aching to get some yellow petunias!) I can't wait to see the black poppy. Appaloosa909 (Andrea) sent Nigella and peony poppy (light and dark pink). I grew my first poppies this year and am now addicted:) SueIrish (Sue) sent Nigella Love in a mist, and stokesia Stoke's Aster "Peachee's Pick" I can't have enough love in a mist! Hello All; I received two packages yesterday but did not get the chance to play with either until today. Jan sent a bunch of gladiola bulbs in really exotic colors. I love glads but did not used to plant them because they are not hardy here and need to be dug up in the fall which I do, but they never survive the winter. I know that is my fault but it is still frustrating. But I digress, my new beau loves gladioulas and has been bugging me to plant them. What I want to know is did he contact you Jan? Well they went in the ground today and I can't wait for them to bloom. Then there was the gel notebook, really neat and unusual and also a wonderful windchime. I am embarassed to say that I believe there were more things in both of these packages but I opened them late last night and put the food stuff away and can't remember all that was in them. I think there was some chocolate and coffee things but my mind is like scrambled eggs today. Ellie sent some neat plants, gardening gloves and once again, who knows what else. I planted everything today and I am very excited about the obedient plant. I do not have one and thought I should so it was a great addition to my gardens. Then the Artemisia (which I cannot even pronounce) is going to be wonderful when I put my flowers together in vases this year. Both sent wonderful notes which is the greatest part of this and I wish we were all closer so we could get together. For those of you who have not yet had their "birthday month", it is a great thing. The boxes come when they feel like it and they have all kinds of things from all over the country. It is funny how excited I get about these thoughtful gifts. Thank you all for the wonderful month. I wish I was a May person to have this happen every year. I sent Jan's info to everyone, if there is anyone who did not get it, let me know. I hope you have half as much fun as I did Jan, and thank you for your gifts. Likewise Ellie, I appreciate you sharing your plants and I really needed more gloves (the color is the latest fashion, isn't it? ) Thanks to all. diene
