Thanks. I use the dining table because it's the easiest to clean up. I tried doing this project once on cardboard, but the glue just makes a mess everywhere. I know us wives HATE our kitchen tables to be used for messy projects, but a moist paper towel in between seed-strips cleans perfectly, leaving no trace of the glue or pen behind! :)

k8 ~ as with all markers, test-wash first! After the fabric is prepped, use a small scrap to mark. Then iron it, wash it, dry it, iron again after washing, mark/starch/iron; -- and freeze it if there is a chance it will exposed to low temps. If you are using a dry-clean-only fabric, sweet-talk the dry cleaner into cleaning the marked scrap along with a regular load. My rule of thumb is that if marks re-appear at any stage, either don't use the marker, or only in seam allowances. So far, Frixon has passed all my tests, but check every fabric anyhow because some day the pen's formula might change and we don't want an unpleasant surprise.

Terri, that is a great painting. I am wading my way through the books that I ordered and I can tell you I have a very long way to go to a quarter as good as you are. Do you ever buy your canvases pre-primed? I found a great article on supplies for the beginning oil artist. Absolutely stressed was high quality brushes and the best paint you can afford. I purchase from Utrecht and some things from Amazon but I have found Ultrecht, Dickblick, and Jerry's have better prices on art supplies overall than Amazon. The list had 12 colors that were recommended. Honestly the pricing is pretty even across the spectrum. Ultrecht has their own line of oils and some of their prices are great but then in other colors they are higher. Highly pigmented reds and yellows are on the high end. Do you have a studio, or at least a dedicated room where you paint? My animals would drive me crazy and there is no way to paint without locking Simba and Toby out of the room or all art would be abstract kitty paws! I am so happy for your encouragement and I am determined to go as far as my limited talent will take me.

I see in the subject line I misspelled gel pens. I had been coloring for several hours completing two pages. I used eye drops to moisturize as I do have dry eyes. It seemed to help? I will be sure to mention it at my next eye app. I will remember to take breaks from now on.
