Donation letter for school

| Would anyone have a sample of a donation letter that you would use to take to local businesses to ask for a donation to our school dance? Our school is having an 8th grade farewell dance and I'm in charge of donations. It just needs to be something short and to the point. Thank you for your help. |

| Just be sure it is on school or some other official letterhead. Make it short, tell what the need is, when the event is, who will attend. Also tell how you will thank donors if you will be listing them in the program or in the school newsette. |
