What are some 'learning tricks' or poems

When talking to my mom she was telling me about poems or songs they used to learn in elementary school. I had never heard of them.

When I told her the multiplying by 9 trick (up to 10), she said she had never heard of it. Ex. When multiply by 9, count the number to be multiplied on your fingers from left to right & fold that finger down. The answer is the amount of fingers to the left of the folded fingers is the "tens column" and the amount of fingers to the right are the "ones column" #. For instance, for 9 x 4 count over 4 and fold 4th finger down. 3 fingers will be to the left and 6 will be to the right. The answer is 36. I hope you all understand.

Do you have any "tricks" that you learned?
