Just got a couple of inches and now here and there a short shower, but lots of drifting snow. No place to go sleding around here. One of the steeper streets is ours, but it is just about 50 yds and ends at a main street with lots of traffic. Not like where I lived as a kid. Lots of hills, little traffic and a street with two 45 degr. curves, screaming for a sled train. Don't know what that is? You tie a bund of sleds together via their strings. The biggest and heaviest sleder leads and the lightest or daringest has the last sled and get's whipped around like the tailend of a wagging dog. Of course you hope that no car shows up and definitely not the cops. If my kids would have done the things we did, I would have had a coronary.

TMan ~ I have tears in my eyes from being your inspiration and reading the lovely presentation you did. I have DH to give credit to for inspiring me and being my personal 'puter tech'and for teaching me to use HTML. I use NoteTab for making my webpages, siggy pages, etc. It is fun to do even if time consuming. Just one little piece of code wrong can mess up the whole thing. It's always great when it comes out right. You did a fantastic job. Thank you for the wintry ride in the country. I could hear the quiet, the horses breathing the leather creaking, the sled swishing along on the snow. Very peaceful and lovely. It is very warm here today. Gerry, I have not been to Lockwoods. I keep meaning too. I've also meant to stop at Blasdell since it is close to my sis-in-law's. I've never been to Galleys. I'll have to check them out, because I always take a few trips out to Clinton to go to Earsing's which is small, but I always find good stuff there and very reasonably priced. I also go to Mike Weber's over there too. I like to go to Menne's a lot. Oh, Highway was leveled last week when I drove by! I don't know of they are rebuilding or they sold the property. If you ever get out to Niagara County on rt. 31(Saunders Settlement Road)near NCCC there is a nursery that carries lots of new and unusual varieties for a good price. I for the life of me can't remember the name! I have to call my cousin and ask, because it really is a nice place worth stopping at when out that way. Remy

I think the only way to get a definite answer to your question is to have a chimney contractor look at your fireplace and oil furnace. My guess is that it is possible to put in a second flue IN PRINCIPLE, but it would have to be sealed so that it does not communicate in any way with the flue for the furnace. Whether there is room in your chimney to accomplish this can only be determined by someone with the right expertise/certification after a close inspection of your system. In any event, I would not let anyone talk you into a makeshift system that does not comply with your code. If you do that and you have a fire, your insurance company will not pay.
