I have Otome-no-ka.... It is on the Don Rawson Fragrant Flowered Hosta List, but the name Kifukurin Otome is not on there. I checked Kifukurin Otome in the HLibrary. It is there. Then I went to MYHOSTAS.BE and found it there too. This is at the bottom in the description field: " =venusta 'Kifukurin Otome'. =venusta 'Aureomarginata'. " So it appears to be a venusta No mention of any additional information. It is a beautiful little thing, isn't it? Nothing says that your ability to detect a fragrance is limited to plants officially recognized as "scented." If they can mutate with leaves, why not with other parts of the plant too? What a sweet looking set of blooms it has, Jo. You are a lucky lady. Perhaps it has tried to let folks know it has this feature, and you're the first one able to detect it. How nice. On the other hand, my Otome-no-ka is not in the Hosta Library. I'll have to track it down and see why it is on the list. Didn't we chat about this hosta once before, and you found fragrance then? Well, I'll try this time to read about the species hosta by Schmid at the HLibrary.

I have what I believe is the first generation HE3t, purchased in 2003, and on my machine, the heater only comes on in the Heavy Duty, Whitest Whites, or Sanitary cycles. The only time the heater will be used on the Normal cycle if the stain treat option is selected. On the HD or WW cycles, the temperature is "measured" one minute after the fill finishes. If the soil level is set to light, the heater will not come on ever. If the soil level is set to normal, the heater comes on if the water temp is below the set point (77 cold, 104 warm, 127 hot), but will only stay on up to 7 minutes. If the soil setting is high, then the heater will stay on up to 16 minutes. If the heater did not need to come on after the first minute, it will not come on later in the wash cycle, even if the temperature dips below the set temp. If the heater turned off before it times out, it will not turn back on during the wash cycle. If the stain treat option is turned on, then the wash cycle is extended (on all soil levels) and the heater will stay on longer. It will, however, not turn back on if it turned off due to reaching the set temperature.

Whether de jure or de facto, there's far too much lingering segregation and too many people with racist attitudes in the US. It's shameful. Had I been a doc at the hospital where the disgusting incident raee describes happened, I would have had a long talk with the patient. And might have suggested they would be happier at another hospital, because at "my hospital", patients don't choose staff docs and that thoughts coming from attitudes like his were never followed.

You have done far, far better than I would have expected you would. I'm going to say no, don't reseed; this seed is still coming in at the temperatures you're reporting, and probably will for the next week or two, right up to Memorial Day. After that, it's going to be too late to seed, and I wouldn't bother. Feed it then, and ride it through the summer as best you can, seeding anything that's thin in mid-August as summer begins to fade. Yes, it's inconvenient, yes, you're probably going to have to patch soil that erodes. And yes, it's not going to look great. And yes, you're absolutely going to have to water that through the summer to keep it alive. Unfortunately, that's what happens with spring seedings.
