I grow an old, 1984 Austin that I rarely see mentioned - Bredon. It is in a pot and still spindly but I hope to get it plumped up and more eager to grow. Same situation with Sir Edward Elgar, bred in 1991. Also have Cressida, 2 Lillian Austins, 4 Belle Storeys. Am babying these along, hoping they will become more robust. Even if they don't, glad to have them and hope they will survive. Have 2 of Charles Austin - these are robust plants with long canes. The blooms, sparse though they are, are a beautiful apricot. Have Jacquenetta on order for spring. Judith

I regularly use alfalfa meal. In spring, I give all roses alfalfa meal and epsom salts - also use Mills Magic Rose Mix which has it in the mix. I bought Pegasus at Chamblees in their sale bin and was asking them what to do with Graham Thomas, which is a huge healthy shrub that barely gives me any blooms - they said mix Carl Pool BR 61 at twice the rate. I just did that yesterday but its probably too late in the year to see any results. My other Pegasus was in full sun - and it gets hot in Texas! - so I am going to place it where its not in hot afternoon sun and give it plenty of room. Its apricot blooms are really beautiful and I would like to grow this one well, so hoping someone who grows it will comment. Thanks for your comment. Judith

That's right, loosen the set screw usually located underneath the spout.

Whatever you decide, be sure to clean it correctly. We have had a few people here complaining that expensive medicine cabinet mirrors (including Robern) are losing their silvering, turning black at the edges. Then they are told that they never should have used any cleansers on them. No windex, nothing. Water and a clean cloth on that glass and its frame. I ended up with midrange or slightly better, big (almost 40” high by 22” wide) Pottery Barn mirrors with electrical plugs inside them on sale for maybe $800 each. I love having the doors opening on opposite sides so that the inside mirrors on the doors face each other. I can finally see the back and sides of my head.
