The temps seem fine. Dry wind is a bit tough to deal with, but I've resigned myself to letting the plants 'deal with it' rather than babying them. So they can look just awful by the end of the day, but if the soil is moist, they will pick up overnight. Then the stems and what not toughen up to deal with the stress. I have a several hanging pots full of petunias that are getting this treatment. That said, some of my tomatoes look just awful, and haven't picked up the next day, so they'll have to grow a new set of leaves. And there are a few geranium branches out and about that broke off. So I'd suggest you leave them out in the wind and just make sure that the soil is moist so they can recover. Later in the summer, when the wind gusts from thunderstorms come around, they'll be tough enough to deal with it. and keep your fingers crossed......

I get a kick out of threads like this, with a lot of history, controversy . Even my own old posts sound interesting to me. It shows how much I have learned over time. DET or INDET? I read a lot of post talking about the plant size as indication of det/indet. But to my understanding det/indet is not all about the plant size, BUT a different growth form. For example you can have a dwarf indeterminant tomato plant. Hmmm INDET: The plants grows like a vine with fruit clusters at the nodes just above the leaf branch, while the branch keeps growing and producing more nodes. DET: The plant has a more bushy shape (if not pruned) BUT that does not mean the real indication of being determinate. The REAL indication of a DET is that fruit clusters appear at the tip/end of branches, NOT on the lower nodes. So the fruit cluster terminates the end of that particular branch. So to get more fruits there will be more lateral branches coming to play to produce fruits, IFF your season is long enough you might continue harvesting fruits all season long. That has been the case/my experience with Siletz and Legend (both det) Semi Det/Indet ? : hahaha . what is that ? I need acollege degree for that one. 4th of July ? OR Independence Day ? Well historically they are the same but according to Burpee IT IS NOT DETERMINED. hehe. BTW. This year of 2015 I am growing 4th of July. I could not locate my seeds packet. So what should I expect ? I get ovarian cysts too. It's very common for women in their 40's and 50's because of the fluctuating hormones- primarily high levels of estrogen. Estrogen feeds the cysts- same way it does Endometriosis and some breast cancers. The cysts usually pop or dissipate on their own. There's a couple things your Dr. could do. You could be put on birth control pills and that way your hormones are controlled. They could also give you Progesterone pills to counteract the estrogen that leads to the cysts. I know Dr's won't do anything until you go 3 cycles or 3 months of bad ovulation pain. Lucky for me- my cysts always go away within that time:) And Ibuprofin is the only thing that stops the pain for me when I get them. Good luck!!

Thanks, Michael, for directing me to brands with low temp paints. In your experience, do these paints work as well as regular paints? Any issues with durability, etc? Faron, that's pretty useful basic info for me. I didn't know you only needed 4 hours dry time at above 50 degrees to make it work. If so, I might still have a window of opportunity - I think we might have some 60-70 degree days left, but I was wondering what to do about the colder night temps (going down into the 40's). Janet - Did you have a couple of hours of above-50 dry time when you painted your garage door? Or did it just plain not work? How has your paint job held up? Thanks everyone. Michelle
