LOL **big grinn** ya and finger nail clippers work good too, LOL to take a really quick clipping, but that was all befor i just went up and knocked on the door and said may i have a clipping of your beautiful plant?? its just so pretty!! of course tabor and hubs go "ohhhhhh GOD" and get so embarrased but i tell ya, you make friends and get to talking about plants and next thing ya know, your like, come over sometime and i'll let you have some of mine, geeze i have TONS of little ones you'll make my hubs happy to get rid of some!! LOL and BOOM you made a new sord of friend. LOL me being the giver i give away tons of plantlings. LOL you wouldnt know it by my back yard though!!! LOL i want crepe myrtle soooo bad!! they smell so good in the spring!! and hydrangea!! oh heck i want the west coast!! its so beautiful!! LOL ** sheepish grinn** LOL also..... you can get seeds from your dried fruit, like the gojio or somthing like that, it doesn't fry them, a guy sent me some, and lo and behold i had tons of seedlings, i don't recommend doing them in the winter!! WOW!!!! I was the original poster back in--------May 2002??!!!! Can't believe this is still going! For the "rest of the story"-----I never did purchase a KA stand mixer after giving it much thought, but ended up buying a very nice GE hand mixer which I have been happy with and for me, seems to be all I need. I use a bread maker just to knead my bread and then I shape the kneaded dough, let rise, and bake in the oven. Glad my original question has been useful for comment for so many others in the last 10 1/2 years. I really appreciate all of these forums on GardenWeb and have learned so much over the years from all of you.

Hmmmm. Can't remember now if it's Plimouth or Sturbridge. Either way, I think one of those would be fun. We aren't "museum" people, but we like seeing how people used to live. I'd love to have spent more time in Salem on my first whiz-by trip. I think we ate lunch there, and that was all. I recall a very quaint downtown area with brick streets (?). Lot of witch museums there, and we stopped at a junk store. :-) I'll have to get out the journal my niece kept on that trip. We stopped somewhere in a very quaint place along a river and ate lunch. WOW - that narrows it down, huh? LOL! As much as I'd like to have unlimited time, one day in DC and one in NYC was enough for me the first time. It was very much a "been there, saw that" type of trip. We had a hoot! Plymoth Rock was my only disappointment...I somehow thought it would be a huge rock out in the water. *rolling eyes*

Hey Desertsteph. I was just checking on this very question today. Talked with several people about a cast iron sink being too heavy for a modular/manufactured home. They said if you have a Formica type countertop (they are heavy), you should be able to have a cast iron sink. They said they have rarely encountered a problem where they had to beef up the insides with reinforcement. However, Lowe's has a brand of cast iron sink (American Standard) that is much lighter weight than the Kohler. It is resin based porcelain and is as durable as the ceramic porcelain. Not an acrylic as those are plastic. Also, went to the American Standard website and gosh, it comes in about 6 colors, from white, cream, beige, grey, black, navy blue. Has to be ordered in but only takes about a week. The prices shown on the website though reflects retail price and is much higher than buying through Lowes. So I have decided to get my custom countertops from them and get the lighter weight sink as well. Their Wilsonart laminates look just like granite and is less than 1/2 the cost. I priced the granite today and it was $1326 for my small kitchen and the Lowe's custom laminate was $630 INSTALLED! Try checking with Lowe's on that brand of cast iron sinks. I think you would be happy with it.
