Thanks for sharing your duck story 13 years ago. We just moved into an apartment with a duck pond 50' from our back porch and it's got all different kinds of ducks and geese. The ducks are nicer and there are different ones, ratty ones, mean ones, wussy ones, skinny ones, fat ones...very often a new gang of teenie tiny ones under mom's feets. They're always fighin for territory or humpin each other. It is quite the backyard reality show. The geese are another story, there is this one that looks different than the rest and he's always causing trouble with the ducks. He's the alpha goose and he doesn't let anyone forget it for a minute. Somebody needs to mess his 6.75lb feathered butt up. Alpha goose pic included.

Our old wood seat was Bemis and lasted 15 years. Didn't see Bemis at the store so we bought a wooden Kohler. Seat edge isn't rounded so paint will probably chip eventually, and hinges are cheap. Went looking for Bemis again and found out that Church is Bemis. I bought the soft-close Church at HD or Lowe's and am very happy with it. Mayfair is also Bemis and carried by Target. I don't know if their soft-close is the same quality as Church.

Is this room on the north side of the house? If so, that is the logical answer as to why the color is tending towards a cooler spectrum. Also, if you are using CFL bulbs in the room it can do the same, as well as in low light as you describe. You can easily change this with incandescent or LED lighting. I also recommend using full spectrum paints, especially if you are painting your interior in one color.

Hello It seems your plant is rotting from bottom upwards. I recommend you cut of the plant stem above the roots, making sure that you cut of the rotting parts of the plant in a straight line. Make sure when you cut the plant, that the scissors or knife you use is CLEAN. Treat the plant as a cutting and leave it in filtered water to propagate another plant. I recommend you grow the plant in filtered water, not soil. Once the plant has grown a decent amount of roots you can add in a few clean pebbles. Be sure to change the water every week. You don't have to boil the water. Make sure you keep the plant out of direct sunlight. The dry, flaky stuff and bumps on the stems are fine. Trim off any dead parts of the leaves with CLEAN scissors. To also help the plant, mist it with filtered water everyday. Hope your plant survives. If you have any questions just comment in this post and I will reply as soon as I can.
