Ah the memories your post brings of me 25 years ago, my first house and all the plans I had for my little 4 acres. You may be a little ambitious, but then again, so was I. And isn't it great to have the space to be ambitious? So a little advice from someone who's been where you are now. First, rejoice and be proud of the sucesses, because there will be some, learn from the failures, there will be some of those too. Take what you have learned with you next year as you plan out your gardens and next year, remember what you have learned then and take it with you the year after when you plan your gardens, and so on and so on. IMHO, gardens are never done and that is the wonder of them. I personally wouldn't move the gooseberries if they are producing well where they are and you are able to havest from them. That's the way I am with the wild raspberries, blackberries, elderberries, hickory nuts, black walnuts, sassafras, and strawberries. To me half the fun is getting out in the neighboring fields/woods and collecting the fruit. Plus another thing you will learn is that you don't want to take up space you can use for another plant with something that you have easy access to. Congrats on the new home and the new gardens, and have fun in the coming years as your gardens and gardening passions develope.

One thing to consider -- metal gets HOT, and you've already got plenty of heat in SC. I'm not familiar with the vine you're considering, but I know that the MG that I had climbing up a metal corner post for my gazebo ended up getting burned by the hot metal -- it burned completely through and severed the top part of the vine from the bottom. For aesthetics, esp. while the vine is just starting to grow, you might want to consider some heavy fishing line (virtually invisible once you get a few feet away). You can criss-cross it between two upright posts and also run it diagonally. Or if you make a "top rail" (think of a soccer goal frame) you could also run the line from the ground up to the top rail. I think it's a great idea, by the way! Have fun!

hi, charliedawg -- I do like them; agree with what's been said before. Simple, elegant, like the bowl for the dining area rather than the 3, and the foyer one doesn't do it for me either. These should go with a variety of decors I think and won't get in the way, but give a nice appearance. DH and I fell in love with a crystal chandelier (a small one on sale for half price) and bought it for our last house even though it doesn't really go with anything else. We're going to look at it more than anyone else, after all! We brought it with us for this house, where it still doesn't "go" with anything else we have. We like all those colors flashing in the afternoon sun and the sparklies in the evening.

LOL I was just thinking about asking you the same thing! I made close to $50, friend made $138.00, I think. (She sold a portable tv! LOL) It was pretty busy but a lot of lookers and fewer buyers. I messed up and didn't put the directions ot my house in the ad - just the address and I think that hurt us. Several people said that they had almost given up on finding us. Plus, friend's DH put a sign up at the end of one of the streets and had the arrow going in the wrong direction! LOL I got rid of a LOT of stuff and friend did, too. Was hoping to sell a display cabinet and a treadmill. A couple of people came in and looked at the treadmill, took down my number and didn't hear from either of them. I'm not gonna GIVE it away! LOL (well, unless it's to one of the kids! LOL) Isn't it a nice feeling to lessen the load a little? I've got two boxes of stuff to go back in the basement and we took a truck load to the thrift store for a donation. Several items of clothing we donated to Help & Hope. Thanks for asking! You tired?
