Y'all might be right about it not being lack of sun - I'm not sure, but maybe. I was basing my assertion on some oats that spilled out of my feed room & tried to grow is shade. They got about a foot tall, turned brown & died. It's possible it could have been the heat instead. So maybe the OP's corn was frost killed? Or didn't get enough water? Preppyjock, can you give us some more input? "However, it seems like alot to spend for a bit earlier harvest." I agree, NatureGirl. At the nursery where I work we sold transplants of things like okra & cowpeas this spring. We have such a long growing season down here & those are so easy from seed that it really surprised me. I felt guilty selling someone a 4" pot of cream peas for $1.29 that might produce fifty cents worth of peas a week or two earlier than direct seeding. But there's a huge number of people just starting to garden this year & they wanted them. One person said he was willing to spend extra for the learning experience of growing them, that he'd learn seed sowing next year. I'd have done it the other way - seed sowing first - but as long as he was happy, so was I.

I don't think you can change the proportions too much and still get a great sponge cake. Every memory of sponge cake I can conjure has a sugary taste. If you feel like experimenting, you can reduce it and see what you get. The alterations in texture might be an acceptable tradeoff for you. I would start by only taking it down 20 g, though. Whether it would work or not for sponge cake, I don't know, but I've read that demerara sugar tastes less sweet. I've never used it and don't know how it bakes. It obviously has a molasses component. You do have to smash it up in the food processor, and/or let it soak in the liquid (egg) to dissolve thoroughly, but it might also be worth a try if you're in the mood to play around.

I ordered mine with a Burgundy interior, & the Vinyl seats. Once those ribbed cloth seats started to wear, they looked like HELL to me. Since mine wasn't the "Official" Y84 "Special-Edition", it came with the standard Silver dashboard. I ordered the Gold one though...at the time, it was $125 for the damn thing thru parts!!!! I later put Monroe rear Air-shocks on it, to raise the rear-end slightly. I then put on Goodyear OWL Eagle-GT's, with a slightly bigger size in back! Faron

I can't post using Houzz URLs on Houzz photo. Or, of course, any pic of my own, from my own files -- which means that photoshopping for anyone, or drawing floor plans for them, or making suggestions for furniture, or anything, doesn't happen. I don't actually know how to upload those on to Houzz in order to work from there, anyway. And it would take far too long to be useful when one is grabbing a bit of spare time to help on a dilemma. I do hope we ordinary users are not being pushed out -- would it even make sense, given how often Houzz retailers and pros have their goods and work posted on dilemmas? All extra publicity. Now if only I could find the missing facility to communicate directly with Houzz about a problem ...... Anyway, Monday is dawning. Maybe something will be done to fix it.
