Animation Walking Tutorial

I have been trying to make an image animate walking, tried moving legs left and right, still doesn't look right(pardon the pun)can any of you clever people suggest a tutorial I could work from.

Judy, No, not as yet, I have been surfing the net, there doesn't seem to be any tutorials to animate walking.
