perennialfan273 - I saved the seeds from the peony poppy 'White Cloud' I winter sowed. It bloomed beautifully altho' after it was finished the foliage got all ratty looking. I saved enough seeds for several trades. I don't need any seeds but you're welcome to some poppy seeds in exchange for an SASBE. I got the seeds back in December from Hazzard's Greenhouse.

I've only been hybridizing a few years, but I have found the colored pipeliners (from craft stores) to work very well. I pollinate a flower....twist a pipecleaner around the bud where the pod will form, and document the cross in an address book alphabetically by the pod parent name. Eventually I go through the address book and make an excel spreadsheet. Sandy

Ed Hartsell of Earth Star Products sells Sanford Uni-Paint Black Paint Sticks - $14.00 for a package of 5. They have UV protection. I get our markers from Paw Paw Everlast, use a Brother labeler and the TZe-S151 labels (black print on clear). I used to use the cut-up blinds from Wal-Mart that are made from some kind of rigid plastic. You can write on those with pencil and it does not fade. Beautiful, Emily! But, no, this was not a member of the papaver clan. While nursery-hopping yesterday, I found what looks like the same plant, whose foliage is very much like Iceland Poppy - grenish grey. Did I write down the name on the tag? Um, nope.
