I have the Kodak Easy Share, and it works the same way on both my XP and Vista computers. I did not install any driver for the camera. I did install the Kodak program. Once the program is installed, leave the camera off, hook up your usb cable to both the computer and the camera. Now open easy share software. Turn on the camera. You should get up a box, that says, windows has detected new hardware, and it will install a driver for the camera. Once done, Kodak, will come up with a box, to transfer all the pictures. I dont store my pictures in Kodak (it does keep a copy though, that I delete later). I have gone into preferences, and have all photos,directed to go to a folder on my desktop. Your camera, most likely is different than mine, since mine is a couple years old, but my grandaughters is much newer than mine, and she has no problems, putting her pictures on my computer using this method, and my daughter recently got a new Kodak, and she had no problem putting them on my computer either. Ginny, I could never get a straight answer either, whenever I asked this question. I can tell you what I have learned from experience, and hope it helps you. First let me say that I would DEFINITELY buy another card or two, perhaps one with more storage, such as 1 gigabyte, that way you will feel comfortable knowing that you have many more pictures yet to take. Secondly, my camera lets me know how many pictures I have taken and how many I have left to take, and this number changes since some pictures will take less space than others. Next, I would recommend taking pictures on a higher resolution so that you can enlarge them later if desired without losing detail in the photo. If you are taking a picture of something that you know you will not make an enlargement out of, you can set your camera to a lower megapixel setting to save space on the card. Personally, I leave mine set at 5 megapixels, that way I am always ready to take a picture that I might want to enlarge. I set my camera to take photos at about 5 megapixels. On a 512 card, I can get(on average), about 230 pictures. At 2.3 or 1.3 megapixels, you will be able to get many more pictures, possibly 2 or three times more, but there is NO exact way of determining exactly how many. The reason for this is that some pictures, even if they are set at the same resolution level, will take up less space than others. For example, my camera showed that I had room for only 9 more photos. I took almost forty before it actually ran out of space, probably since I was taking pictures at night, of the moon. I just went outside and made a little video, for some reason I was surprised that it had sound. LOL! You can hear the birds chirping! Cool. The pictures are ok, some were blurry. I haven't figured out how to use the zoom function yet. Test picture: I can see more detail in the up close pictures with this camera than my Kodak...oh, and yes, I meant Canon not Kodak, which is my old camera. It took videos too but I never used it for that. I gave that camera to Alex today. Thanks Iowagirl, I'll go back and print a copy of it to take with me...otherwise I will be lost when I actually go to do it. Thanks Glenda, I'll go check it out.

Remember the topic I did called something like, "I don't know how to.....?" Well, I should have added in the topic that I don't know how to work my camera except for the basic settings. lol. DH bought it for me, along with a tripod, zoom lens, wide lens, etc. It comes with a video that I never looked at. I've looked at the book but for the life of me I don't understand it, and when I take a picture it's a spur of the moment thing, not planned. I have never been able to take a picture at night unless it's the moon. I try to take pictures of Christmas lights at night, but the camera either won't "click" or the lights are awful. Honestly I'm about ready for a P&S camera like my last one. DH and I share an iphone and he uses the camera for work. I really don't need an iPhone so that doesn't bother me, but they do take great pictures.
