Scanning ink usage

Posted by kenz (My Page) on

I recently purchased an HP Photosmart C6380 all-in-one. Is there any way to shut off the head cleaning that this printer goes through between scans? There should not be any ink usage with just scanning but for some reason this unit does. I have printed out only two pages but have scanned numerous things. The ink is nearly out. Ouch! Any suggestions would be appreciated.

RE: Scanning ink usage

If you bought it recently, call HP and ask them. Most of the time, the ink that comes with a new printer isn't a full cartridge. That is a total scam, I agree, but that is how they keep the price down, sell it with "starter" cartridges.
