I just tried printing a top fold card and the alignment seems to be OK. Just thought I'd add that.

I have had the original side (rounded) shelves in my 1940’s kitchen with the original metal cabinets for the past 20 years. I painted them yellow and they have the original stainless around the edges. I am now remodeling my kitchen- getting new wood cabinets in white & I am having my cabinet maker replicate the original shelves! 9” on each side. Also keeping my massive 5’ x 2’ sink!! I am debating between 1.) painted white (same as cabinets) or 2.) painted a different color like yellow or blue to match a color in my curtains, or 3.) my third option is to stain them to match part of my peninsula & my dining room table (dark walnut.) What do you guys think? 1, 2, or 3?

Thanks for the comments. As for pattern choices... my goodness they're difficult! One pp that I chose that I thought would be simple, turned out to be a nightmare to make (my apologies!). I would love to choose more complex/adult/mature patterns, but I worry about whether they would scare away beginner level quilters. Another problem I'm running into is that there are a lot fewer non-juvenile themed patterns in pp that are on free sites. And many of the applique patterns seem awfully time consuming for a lotto, though I love them.... such as floral wreath patterns. The last couple of lottos, I've tried having pp and applique in the same month so that quilters who enjoy one technique, but not the other, don't need to sit out a cycle. And it's very difficult finding TWO patterns, one pp & one applique (in the same or similar sizes) that will go together in the same project. I'll try a couple of more lotto cycles, but would definitely welcome suggestions of pattern/fabric combinations that fit the criteria I'm trying to meet each month. Thanks, Kay

That TV is such a behemoth that it overwhelms the space. It's stealing all the attention and obscuring the pretty details of the molding above the fireplace. You'd need some pretty large elements on either side to balance it. Small art pieces would be lost and unable to compete with it. Or maybe it looks gigantic because your chairs are rather low and compact - if I were you, I'd look for large wingbacks and upholster them in a large-scale, high-contrast print. I've always heard it's a decorating no-no to put the TV above a fireplace, but in some spaces that *seems* like the only option. However, I am sure you have other options for its placement. It really shouldn't be where it is. Can you post some pics of the rest of the room?
